About audra owens, lpc

You don’t have to carry this all on your own.

I’m a Chandler and Gilbert based therapist specializing in trauma and relationships. I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, cancer loss, & boundaries, premarital & short term EFT couples counseling, & betrayal trauma. My husband and I have not only survived a total breakdown of a marriage due to addiction, at 25yrs in we are thriving beyond our wildest dreams. Recovery is possible, what's broken can be repaired! When it aligns with the beliefs of my clients, I enjoy incorporating their faith into trauma healing work & find it lends to deeply moving client experiences. I am also a mother of 5 & have experienced the range of struggles that arise in surviving parenthood & marriage.

I use trauma modalities such as parts work, Accelerated Resolution Therapy & EMDR, to work with trauma & to treat issues with self-worth, self defeating anxiety causing beliefs/behaviors, work & sports performance. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy for relationship repair and attachment focused trauma work.

You are NOT permanently broken. I have been to those dark places; I know how painful they are. I am: an athlete, survivor of betrayal trauma, a mother of 5 (some neurodivergent). I lost my mother to cancer. I have felt extreme anxiety, loneliness, rejection, isolation & depression. I have wondered if God loves me. I am also thriving. I see you AND feel you.

When I’m not “therapizing” I enjoy playing tennis, pickleball, water sports, camping in the forest or on the beach in Mexico, scuba diving, and spending time with my family and friends.

Therapist in Chandler Gilbert
"Life has taught me to courageously face fear and overcome challenges. As a child, I struggled with social and school-related anxiety—my 3rd-grade teacher put a comment on my report card that "Audra needs to make more of an EFFORT SOCIALLY." Even in high school, as an athlete, my nerves often affected my performance on the field. Rather than avoiding anxiety, I chose to confront it head-on—fighting it instead of feeding it. I didn't stay home from scary social situations; I completed public speaking and performing opportunities in the midst of panic attacks. I can promise you I am acquainted with anxiety. Accelerated Resolution Therapy has profoundly transformed my view of self and, unexpectedly, also my adult athletic performance. I often wish I had access to this powerful tool when I was younger. My goal now is to support student athletes and adults in succeeding more easily and confidently." - Audra

About Jennifer King, LAC, CRC

Are you a parent who is in the trenches of parenting? You're struggling, your kid is struggling. The school is calling. Lots of trying to figure it out. Is it ADHD? Is it autism? Is it trauma? Teen loneliness? It's a lot to worry about. Children. Teens. Kids with behavioral challenges, special needs, or different abilities. Or maybe you're an adult navigating attachment wounds, trauma, anxiety, depression, and/or panic. All of these experiences or roles can make life feel heavy. You might feel numb, like the colors just aren't as bright anymore. Or maybe you feel so amped up your life feels like a "What About Bob" highlight reel.

Rooted in attachment theory, certified in Accelerated Resolution Trauma Therapy (ART), and in training for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I understand the importance of attachment, as well as the ramifications of attachment wounds and trauma. I also help kids develop emotional regulation skills, & prioritize the parent child relationship while doing so.

As a parent of 2 children with autism and a trauma survivor, I'm no stranger to the trenches of life. As your therapist, I get in those trenches with you. Being in them is hard, being in them alone is harder. Kid, teen, or adult, l get in there with you, and when you're ready we'll clean & bandage your wounds and I'll hold your hand while you climb out.

Audra and Jennifer are both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We understand the special interests for faithful members and Christians in general in navigating societal challenges today. We take special care to honor and validate the beliefs of our clients and respect the role of the parents of youth entrusted in our care.
